The length of the exam can vary depending on the outcomes of each phase of testing and we ensure our patients are put at ease and have the ability to ask questions to better understand their assessment.
During the test we will complete a number of painless tests that assess the visual status and eye health.
Eye examinations are more than routine process, even for patients who feel confident in their eyesight regular eye tests can be beneficial in revealing information about overall health and understanding long term management. In many cases we have been able to identify the potential onset of eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetes and cataracts at the early stages which is crucial in maintaining patient eyesight long-term.
Following the assessment, the optometrist will explain the findings including potential updates to prescriptions if required. If new glasses or contact lenses are required we can assist in the selection of the right products, of which we have a wide range to choose from to suit individual tastes and needs.

We would recommend a full eye test routinely at least every two years if not sooner if patients have a history of a changing prescription or have had cases of eye conditions in the past.
Some individuals are entitled to eye tests paid by the NHS and may require tests on a more regular basis.
